Christians believe that God created the world and humankind. We believe that God loves each person and that He wants everyone to understand His plan of salvation for man. We believe that God wants man to spend eternity forever with Him.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, that it is infallible, and that it is the only source we need to consult in matters of faith. Because Christians believe that all questions about the church should be answered by scripture from the Bible, what we look for in a church is:

• its scriptural builder, Christ
  
  
• its scriptural foundation, the confession that Christ is the Son of the Living God
  
  
• its scriptural place of establishment, Jerusalem
  
  
• its scriptural beginning time, the Pentecost following the resurrection of Christ
  
  
• its worldwide presence bearing His name
  
  
• its undenominational nature
  
  
• its creed, the Bible only
  
  
• its membership correctly understanding (rightly dividing) the Word of Truth
  
  
• its scriptural approach to outreach and mission work
  
  
• its belief that the kingdom has been established, and that Christ is now reigning on His throne
  
  
• its scriptural answers to the question, "What must I do to be saved?"
  
  
• its teaching that man is saved by faith but not by faith alone
  
  
• its teaching that man is saved by the blood of Christ
  
  
• its teaching that a change of heart is necessary for salvation
  
  
• its teaching and practice concerning prayer
  
  
• its teaching and practice concerning scriptural baptism
  
  
• its teaching that a child of God can sin so as to be eternally lost
  
  
• its teaching that infants are born pure and innocent rather than depraved
  
  
• its teaching that the miraculous manifestations of the spirit have ceased
  
  
• its scriptural teaching and observance of the Lord's supper
  
  
• its scriptural music in worship
  
  
• its teaching that salvation is in Christ's church only.
